Step 1: Prepare the Strawberries, the Sauce, and the Basil
Wash and hull the strawberries. Cut the larger ones in half, and place them in a mixing bowl. In a bowl, combine the honey, the lemon juice, and the olive oil, whisking well with a fork. Rinse and dry the basil, and remove the leaves from the stems.
Step 2: Finishing Touches
Finely crush the cubeb pepper, or put it in a pepper mill. Pour the sauce over the strawberries, and mix delicately. Sprinkle a few basil leaves over the top, then add two pinches of the ground cubeb pepper. Mix gently, and allow to marinate 30 minutes at room temperature before serving.
