Pan

Pan

Shallow; round or oval; utensil; in varying sizes for frying; sautéing; or browning products or preparations. Many models exist; with single or duel handles, made of a variety of materials, sometimes covered in a non-stick Teflon coating.

A skillet or frying pan can come in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, copper, and even in aluminum with regard to pans with a nonstick coating in ceramic or Teflon, materials which prevent food from sticking while allowing for excess fat to be eliminated. Depending on the type of food, a choice can be made between a basic skillet, a crepe pan, a grill pan, and a deep skillet. The diameter of a skillet can vary between 10 cm and 30 cm.

An omelet, fish fillets, meat steaks, and sautéed vegetables are examples of dishes that can be made in a skillet.
